OVERCONFIDENT

In this game, players bid for the lowest range size. Whoever wins the bidding gets to guess a range first, but will they get it right or be OVERCONFIDENT?

It's good to understand the main game before trying this. If you're playing with the Personal Expansion, one person will write their actual answer after step 1, and this is what players will compare to in step 6.

1. READ OUT A QUESTION

3. KEEP BIDDING OR STICKING

The next player clockwise must beat the previous player’s bid with a smaller size. After everyone’s first bid, you can continue bidding smaller or choose to stick to your previous bid.

5. GUESS A RANGE

The smallest bidder guesses a range based on their winning range size and says it out loud.

7. INCORRECT?

But if they’re OVERCONFIDENT, the next smallest bidder gets to guess a range based on their best bid and then they secretly check the answer. Keep going until someone gets it right. If no one gets it right, no one wins the card!

2. MAKE THE FIRST BID

Pick a player to go first. They must bid a range size they think they can use to get a correct range. Try to start big so that everyone can have a bid.

4. FIND THE MOST CONFIDENT PLAYER

Keep bidding until one player wins the bidding war, that’s when everyone else sticks or they bid an unbeatable size of 0 (i.e. an exact answer).

6. CHECK THE ANSWER

They then secretly check the correct answer on the back of the card. If they’re right, they win the card!

8. FIRST TO 3 CARDS WINS!

Take turns to bid first on each question.
